The two leaders discussed a range of topics aimed at further enhancing bilateral relations. This included expanding scholarship opportunities for Indonesian students in Russian universities, fostering cooperation in key sectors like energy and food security, and strengthening ties between the parliaments of both nations.

“We spoke about many topics to further enhance our nations’ bilateral relations, including scholarships for Indonesian students in Russia,” Ahmad was quoted as saying after the meeting.

The meeting also saw discussions regarding Indonesia’s recent accession to the BRICS economic bloc. Ambassador Tolchenov expressed appreciation for Russia’s support in securing this membership for Indonesia.

“Yes, we discussed that, and I extended appreciation to the Russian government for supporting Indonesia to obtain a full BRICS membership within a short period of time,” Ahmad noted.

Celebrating 75 Years of Diplomatic Harmony
