Following the death of actor Eric Dane on February 19th at the age of 53 after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), his girlfriend, Janell Shirtcliff, has shared a series of poignant memories on her Instagram Stories. Dane, known for his roles in “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Euphoria,” had publicly disclosed his diagnosis in April 2025 TV Insider.

A Final Red Carpet Appearance

Shirtcliff, a director and photographer, posted several photos and video clips featuring Dane, offering a glimpse into their relationship. Their last public appearance together was at the premiere of Dane’s TV series “Countdown” in June 2025, marking their red carpet debut as a couple Just Jared. This event similarly represented Dane’s first public appearance since his ALS diagnosis and, his last.

A Complicated Personal Life

Despite his relationship with Shirtcliff, Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, never finalized their divorce.
