Strengthening Senior Care: New Consultations and Measures at Castelsarrasin Moissac Intercommunal Hospital Center

The Castelsarrasin Moissac Intercommunal Hospital Center (CHICM) continues to prioritize patient rights and enhance care for seniors through new solidarity consultations and ongoing initiatives, with active support from user representatives.

User Commission Ensures Patient-Centered Care

The User Commission (CDU) plays a vital role in fostering dialogue between patients and the hospital. Its core mission is to safeguard patient rights and contribute to the continuous improvement of reception, care quality, and safety. The CDU examines complaints, offers recommendations, and proposes improvements within the establishment.

Renewed User Representation

The recent renewal of user representatives (RU) strengthens their commitment to serving patients and their families. The renewed representatives are:

  • Daniel Botta (Incumbent, President of the CDU, and President of the Association of Users and Friends of the Hospital)
  • Serge Delos (CDU Member, ADAPEI)
  • Monique Cousteils (Substitute, Member of Users and Friends of the Hospital)
  • Dominique Mirouze (Substitute, Member of the French Association of Diabetics Occitanie)
  • Marie-France Brouillet (Representative of the Supervisory Board, former health executive)
  • Camille Lopitaux (Departmental Delegate of France Parkinson 82)

User representatives are identifiable at the entrance of each hospital department. A mailbox for messages is available in the reception hall of the CHICM, and messages can also be sent to bottadan@wanadoo.fr.

Solidarity Consultation for Seniors Without a Primary Care Physician

To improve care access, the CHICM, in collaboration with the CPTS Quercy Gascogne, has established a local solidarity consultation for individuals over 70 without a treating physician. This consultation, which began on February 7th, takes place weekly on Wednesday mornings and is provided by Doctor Brignol from the SMR (medical care and rehabilitation). Access requires registration with CPTS Quercy Gascogne, which manages requests and directs patients to the doctor (Tel. 06 49 53 85 03).

Enhanced Rehabilitation at Castelsarrasin SMR

Since December 1st, the Castelsarrasin SMR has been offering half-day (3.5 hour) day hospital sessions to a maximum of one patient per day, Monday through Friday. This service is designed for patients who have undergone orthopedic surgery with rehabilitation, are capable of participating in intensive therapy with a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and osteopath, and are not alone or located far from the facility. This allows the medical team to provide specialized care that may not be readily available in standard outpatient settings.

Convenient Laboratory Access

The CHICM analysis laboratory accepts assessments without appointments from Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. And 9 a.m.
