Germany’s Sarah English to Compete in Eurovision 2026 in Vienna

Germany has selected Sarah English to represent the nation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, to be held in Vienna, Austria. English won the German national final with her song “Fire.”

The “Eurovision Song Contest – The German Finale 2026” achieved a market share of 18.1% on Saturday evening on ARD, hosted by Barbara Schöneberger and Hazel Brugger. Notably, the show garnered a 27.4% share among viewers aged 14 to 49, and an impressive 40.9% among those aged 14 to 29.

An average of 3.651 million viewers tuned in, with 1.086 million in the 14 to 49 age demographic and 323,000 in the 14 to 29 age group. The event was a SWR production in collaboration with Kimmig Entertainment, Florian Wieder, and Lodge of Levity. SWR took over responsibility for the German preliminary round, previously handled by NDR for the past 30 years.

Broadcast and Streaming Numbers

In addition to the television broadcast, the event was live-streamed 211,000 times, and an additional 700,000 views were recorded via the ARD media library’s live stream.
