Fallout Star Ella Purnell’s Other Series is Climbing Streaming Charts

Fallout star Ella Purnell’s hit serial killer series is making another run for the top of the streaming charts before Season 2 premieres. Although it wasn’t as successful as Fallout, the thriller received stellar reviews.

It debuted in 10th place on Dec. 14, before making its way to No. 9 on Dec. 15. While the series still has a ways to go before it catches up to its leading competition in shows like Power Book IV: Force and Spartacus: House of Ashur,it may not be long before that happens considering Season 2 of Sweetpea is expected to premiere sometime in 2026.
Created for television by Kirstie Swain and based on the 2017 novel of the same name by author CJ Skuse, Sweetpea stars Purnell as Rhiannon Lewis, a generally meek young woman who grew up being bullied and continues carrying that trauma in her daily life. After a series of personal tragedies ranging from the death of her father to the return of a high school tormentor,Rhiannon sets about solving her problems through murder rather than shying away from them as usual.
Alongside Purnell, Sweetpea stars Nicôle Lecky as Rhiannon’s former bully turned real estate agent Julia Blenkingsopp, Jon Pointing as Rhiannon’s former romantic interest Craig, Leah Harvey as junior detective Marina Farrar, Camille Coduri as local bartender Carol, and Calam Lynch, Dustin Demri-burns, and Jeremy Swift as Rhiannon’s coworkers at the Carnsham Gazette AJ, Jeff, and Norman.
Upon its release, Sweetpea was met with overwhelmingly positive reviews. As of the time of writing,Season 1 of Sweetpea holds an 88% “Certified Fresh” rating via review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes,as averaged across 25 verified critical reviews of the series. Viewers were more critical of the series, however, landing Sweetpea Season 1 a mere 62% approval rating via Rotten Tomatoes’ audience-generated “Popcornmeter,” as averaged across more than 250 reviews.
