RSA Announces Fee Increases for Driving Licences, NCT Tests & More

Drivers and vehicle owners in Ireland are facing price hikes on a number of services provided by the Road Safety Authority (RSA). The RSA announced adjustments to fees, effective January 1st, 2024, citing the need for funding crucial public interest activities and government priorities.

This marks the first change in fees for most services since 2012, with some dating back to 2011. The RSA is investing €18 million in public interest initiatives with these adjustments.

Fee Increases Details:

  • Driving Licence: Increased from €55 to €65
  • Learner Permit: Increased from €35 to €45
  • Full NCT Test: Increased from €55 to €60
  • Retest NCT: Increased from €28 to €40
  • Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test: 15% increase in pre-VAT cost.
