North Omaha House Fire Injures Firefighter and Resident
A house fire in North Omaha early Tuesday morning sent one resident and a firefighter to the hospital with serious injuries. The fire occurred near 44th and Evans Streets, with crews responding to the scene around 3:00 a.m.
Fire Details and Rescue Efforts
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy flames emanating from the front of the home according to a release. One man was rescued from the second floor using a ladder. Firefighters also successfully rescued a dog and a cat from the burning residence.
Injuries and Hospitalization
One resident was transported to a hospital for evaluation, initially with serious injuries. Reports indicate the resident was being treated for smoke inhalation. A firefighter was also injured although responding to the fire and was initially hospitalized for smoke inhalation, but has since been released. The nature of the resident’s injuries remains unclear.
Investigation and Displacement
