Franzoni Leads Second Kitzbühel Downhill Test; Third Training Canceled

Giovanni Franzoni of Italy continues to dominate the pre-race timings at the Kitzbühel downhill,securing the fastest time in the second timed test on the Streif course. He finished with a time of 1’52″21, building on his leading performance from Tuesday’s first test.

Nils Alphand of France followed closely behind, just 0.09 seconds slower, while Austria’s Stefan Babinsky rounded out the top three with a time 0.29 seconds off the pace.

Several other Italian skiers demonstrated strong performances, including Christof Innerhofer in fourth (+0.39 seconds), Mattia Casse in sixth (+0.51 seconds), and Florian Schieder in eighth (+0.72 seconds). Dominik Paris placed 18th (+1.38 seconds).Benjamin Alliod, Marco Abbruzzese, and Max Perathoner trailed further back, with Guglielmo Bosca not participating in the test.

Following the second timed run, race officials announced the cancellation of the third and final official training session. The schedule now moves to the Super-G on Friday at 11:30 am, followed by the downhill race on Saturday, and concluding with the slalom on Sunday.
