Citrus Heights’ Backyard Bash Spring Concert Series Returns in April

Citrus Heights is set to host the “Backyard Bash” spring band series, offering three evenings of free live music, food trucks, and outdoor fun at the Marketplace at Birdcage this April and May. The series, held behind Jamba Juice at 6061 Sunrise Blvd., aims to bring the community together and support local businesses.

Event Details

The free concert series will take place on three Friday nights: April 3rd, April 17th, and May 1st, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy a variety of local food trucks and a beer and wine garden hosted by the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights.

A New Approach After Brews in the ‘Burbs

The “Backyard Bash” series comes after the cancellation of the annual “Brews in the ‘Burbs” event, which ran from 2019 until last year. Sunrise MarketPlace Executive Director Katihlynn Carpenter explained that “Brews in the ‘Burbs” was a costly event due to the number of breweries involved and the associated entry fees. A previous attempt to launch a “Backyard Bash” event last fall was postponed due to a scheduling conflict with the Sunrise Recreation and Park District’s 75th anniversary Jubilee celebration.

Sunrise MarketPlace aims to provide free, fun events to raise awareness for local shops and businesses, with expenses covered by sponsorship funding.
