Angelo State University (ASU) is excited to announce the return of its popular, tuition-free summer robotics Camps, designed to introduce middle school students to the exciting world of technology adn engineering. These immersive, hands-on camps will be held on the ASU campus at the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, located at 2602 dena Drive, throughout July.
Building Skills for a Tech-Driven Future
Open to students entering sixth, seventh, and eighth grade in the fall, the camps provide a foundational learning experience in robotics. Participants will gain practical skills in building, designing, and programming robots using the LEGO Spike Prime system – a versatile platform widely used in STEM education. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 15 percent from 2022 to 2032, much faster than the average for all occupations, highlighting the increasing importance of these skills.
Camp Details & Schedule
These non-residential camps run daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and are structured to be accessible to beginners, requiring no prior robotics experience. The camp dates are as follows:
Session 1: July 7 – July 11
Session 2: July 14 – July 18
