Film Details Last Moments of Girl Killed in Gaza

A new documentary drama recounts the final moments in the life of Hind Rajab, a Palestinian girl from the Gaza Strip. The film team states the five-year-old died in January 2024 while her family attempted to flee the city of Gaza. Both the film and several autonomous investigations suggest she and members of her family were killed by Israeli forces.

Director Kaouther Ben Hania prefaces her film with the disclaimer: “This dramatization is based on true events.” she blends original audio and video footage with reconstructions and dramatized scenes.

The Israeli military denies carrying out the attack, stating that no troops were present in the area at the time.

Film Uses Authentic Phone and Video Recordings

A key element of the film is what the Tunisian director describes as an authentic phone recording. Trapped in a bombarded car surrounded by deceased family members, the girl spent approximately three hours on the phone with volunteers from the Palestinian Red Crescent, pleading for help.
