All Kroger Little Clinic locations in Georgia will shut their doors this spring, leaving regular patients to line up new options.
The company confirmed 18 clinics statewide will close April 4. Here is what we know, and what patient should know.
Why are the Kroger clinics closing?
In its announcement, the company called the move a difficult decision but did not provide a reason Georgia clinics are being singled out while Little Clinic sites in other states remain open.
Is this part of a bigger trend?
The announcement follows last year’s decision by Walmart to close dozens of health centers nationwide after the company said the model was not sustainable.
Retailers across the country have experimented with in-store medical care as patients look for faster and more convenient treatment, but several companies have recently scaled those plans back.
Here are all the cities with locations (set to close):
- Athens (2)
- Atlanta
- Bonaire (Warner Robins)
- Carrollton
- Cartersville
- Cumming
- Dacula
- Dallas
- Dawsonville
- Gainesville
- Jefferson
- Macon
- Newnan
- Peachtree City
- Stone Mountain
- Sugar Hill
- Suwanee
Are Kroger stores closing?
Last summer, Kroger announced plans to shutter 60 underperforming stores over an 18-month period. Since then, four Georgia stores have closed.

Locations that shut their doors:
- Atlanta: 2452 Morosgo Way (closed July 19)
- Alpharetta: 11877 Douglas Rd. (closed Aug. 16)
- Decatur: 3479 Memorial Dr. (closed Sept. 13)
- Brookhaven: 3855 Buford Hwy. (closed Oct. 18)
