Gophers Baseball Defeats Kansas 10-3, Isaac Morton Earns Win

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The University of Minnesota baseball team secured a 10-3 victory over the University of Kansas on Saturday, benefiting from strong offensive performances and solid pitching. The win improves Minnesota’s record in the four-game series to 2-1.

Game Highlights

Isaac Morton earned the win for the Gophers, pitching five innings and recording four strikeouts. Brandon Jaenke followed with two scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out three batters.

Weber Neels led the Gophers’ offense with four hits, including a double and two RBIs. Ty Allen delivered a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with a double, a grand slam, and four RBIs. Easton Richter also contributed with a home run and an RBI.

Kansas narrowed the gap to 7-3 with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly. Yet, Minnesota responded in the sixth inning with a solo home run from Richter, pushing the score to 8-3.

Minnesota added two more runs in the eighth inning. Davis Hamilton drove in a run with an RBI single, and then stole home to finalize the score at 10-3.
