St. Norbert College Cross Country at UW-Green Bay Phoenix Open

GREEN BAY – The St. Norbert College men’s cross country team competed against a field including primarily scholarship athletes at the UW-Green Bay Phoenix Open, held at the Phoenix Alumni Cross Country Course on September 7, 2024. https://www.snc.edu/athletics/

The Green Knights finished seventh out of nine teams, totaling 202 points. UW-Stevens Point secured the team title with 46 points, followed closely by Green Bay with 66 points. UW-Green Bay’s Noah Jahnke won the individual 8,000-meter race, completing the course in 24:23.6,out of a field of 126 runners. https://greenbayphoenix.com/

Individual Performances

Lars Huffman led St. Norbert’s runners,finishing 39th overall with a time of 26:20.6. Christian Lopez placed 49th, clocking in at 26:39.8, while Kyan Lynts finished closely behind in 50th place with a time of 26:44.1.

Jacob Wellons recorded a 63rd-place finish in 27:12.2. Michael Chudy finished 85th with a time of 27:37.9, Carson Hammer was 95th in 28:19.7, and Will Cascio completed the race in 28:23.6 for a 98th-place finish.

This event provided St. Norbert College with valuable experience competing against a strong field of division I and scholarship Division III programs.The team will continue its season with upcoming competitions, building towards the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) championships. https://naccsports.org/
