A chilling new psychological thriller, hallow Road, is slated to arrive in US cinemas in Fall 2025, distributed by XYZ Films. The film, directed by Bafta-winning filmmaker Babak Anvari, promises a suspenseful exploration of family secrets and the haunting consequences of a single night.

The narrative centers on a couple, portrayed by acclaimed actors rosamund Pike (Saltburn) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans), who are plunged into a desperate situation. Their quiet evening is shattered by a late-night phone call informing them of their daughter’s involvement in an accident – she’s struck a pedestrian while driving her father’s car.

This dual launch aims to maximize exposure and capitalize on the growing interest in suspenseful cinema.Currently, the horror genre is experiencing a resurgence, with box office revenue up 15% year-over-year according to recent data from the National association of Theater Owners.

Collaborative Production and Future projects

The film is a collaborative effort between Lucan Toh of Two & Two Pictures, Ian Henry of London Film & TV, and XYZ Films.financing for Hallow Road was secured through XYZ Films, alongside contributions from IPR.VC and Screen Ireland. XYZ Films will continue to manage international sales and distribution.The screenplay, penned by William Gillies, was initially commissioned and developed by London Film & TV.

Babak Anvari, the director, is recognized for his distinctive style in the horror genre, notably his 2016 sundance hit Under the Shadow, which earned him an outstanding Debut Bafta Award.He co-founded Two & Two Pictures with Lucan Toh, and his previous works include Wounds and I Came By. This latest project builds upon a successful working relationship between XYZ and Two & Two, who have previously collaborated on Under the Shadow, I Came By, and History of Evil.

Looking ahead, XYZ Films has a robust slate of projects, including Miley Cyrus’s new visual album Something Gorgeous and In Cold Light, featuring Maika Monroe and troy Kotsur, both set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
