Health and Nursing Care Insurance Contributions to Rise for Higher Earners in 2025
Employed individuals with higher incomes will face increased contributions to statutory health and nursing care insurance in teh coming year. This adjustment follows the Federal Cabinet’s approval of a draft regulation from the Ministry of Social Affairs, designed to annually refine the calculation variables for these contributions.
Specifically, the contribution assessment limit for statutory health and nursing care insurance is set to increase from €5,512.50 to €5,812.50 per month. This means contributions will be levied on monthly salaries up to this new limit, with no further deductions applied to earnings exceeding this threshold. The change aims to ensure the continued stability and funding of Germany’s healthcare system, aligning contributions with current wage levels.
