Francis Hogan to Defend NABF Middleweight Title on March 28th
Undefeated NABF Middleweight Champion Francis “Frank the Tank” Hogan (21-0, 17 KOs) will defend his title against Ghanaian veteran Patrick Allotey (45-10, 35 KOs) on Saturday, March 28th, at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Massachusetts. The Boxing Hour and Fightnews.com reported the bout will headline CES Boxing’s ‘North Shore Knock Out’ event.
Hogan’s Rise and Recent Successes
The fight represents a significant step in Hogan’s career, as he continues to establish himself as a prominent middleweight contender in New England. He has recently secured victories over Elvin Ayala (KO 2), Khiary Gray (W10), Esneiker Correa (KO 4), and Antonio Todd (W8). His November win against Antonio Todd at Encore Boston Harbor was particularly noteworthy, demonstrating his ring IQ and ability to break down opponents in the later rounds. The Boxing Hour noted Hogan controlled the fight, dropping Todd in the seventh round.
Allotey: A Battle-Tested Opponent
Patrick Allotey brings a wealth of experience to the ring, with 35 knockouts in 45 professional wins. He has faced numerous middleweight contenders, including recent bouts against Chordale Booker and Tommy Hyde. His most recent fight, a majority decision loss to Tommy Hyde in September, was a closely contested match. The Boxing Hour describes Allotey as a “battle-tested Ghanaian veteran.”
Hogan’s Strategy and Preparation
Hogan plans to utilize his skills against Allotey, stating he intends to “perceive him out early, see how his power is, and then dominate him.” The Boxing Hour quoted Hogan as saying Allotey “doesn’t really try to control the fight — he kind of fights your fight.” He has been preparing for the bout alongside other regional fighters, including Rashidi Ellis, and continues to work as a certified welder in Walpole.
