Hudson Williams’ Vancouver Hotspots: A Guide to the ‘Heated Rivalry’ Star’s Favourite Restaurants

Hudson Williams, the breakout star of the Crave series Heated Rivalry, has become a familiar face in Metro Vancouver. Beyond his acting career, which began after moving from his birthplace in Kelowna, Williams has a penchant for the city’s diverse culinary scene. From Korean BBQ to Chicago-style deep dish, here’s a look at the Vancouver restaurants the actor frequents.

Korean BBQ at Kook

Williams highlights Kook (2800 E 1st Ave #211A, Vancouver) as a top pick for Korean BBQ. Kook positions itself as the “most exciting Korean BBQ in Vancouver,” offering a menu featuring yangnyeom galbisal (marinated short ribs), wooseol (thinly sliced beef tongue), beef bulgogi (thinly sliced marinated beef), and haemul gui (assorted marinated seafood), alongside an array of banchan (side dishes).

Hot Pot at Big Way Hot Pot

For those craving hot pot, Williams recommends Big Way Hot Pot, a popular chain with multiple locations throughout Metro Vancouver. “I like Big Way Hot Pot, which is very commercial now, but I love some hot pot,” Williams shared.

Sushi at Miku

Williams also enjoys Miku (200 Granville St. #70, Vancouver, and 8811 River Rd., Richmond) for its sushi offerings.

Deep Dish Pizza at AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Shop

After a bit of a search, Williams revealed his favourite spot for Chicago-style deep dish pizza is AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Shop, which has a location in Tsawwassen. He describes it as “so gluttonous and greasy and perfect.”

Korean Fried Chicken at Nadri

Williams also expressed his fondness for the Korean fried chicken at Nadri (111F-4501 North Rd., Burnaby), a restaurant he initially forgot the name of during an interview.

A Vancouver Native with Roots Across B.C.

Williams’ connection to British Columbia runs deep. Born in Kelowna, he also grew up in Kamloops and worked in New Westminster’s Old Spaghetti Factory early in his career. The actor currently resides in Vancouver, solidifying his ties to the region. Cities across B.C., including Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, and New Westminster, have playfully competed on social media to claim Williams as their own, acknowledging his widespread connections to the province. Destination Vancouver and other tourism bureaus have engaged in a lighthearted rivalry to associate themselves with the popular actor.
