Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are planning a joint visit to Tehran, Iran, to help de-escalate tensions in the Middle East amid ongoing conflicts involving the United States and Israel. The plan for a joint mediation effort was discussed during a phone call between President Prabowo and Prime Minister Sharif, according to Jimly Asshiddiqie, Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI). Asshiddiqie stated that President Prabowo shared his plans following a conversation with the Pakistani Prime Minister.

President Prabowo’s commitment to peaceful resolution of global conflicts was similarly emphasized during a recent breaking of the fast event with leaders of Islamic organizations and Islamic boarding schools at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
