iPhone 17 Pro Fast Charging Requires New Adapter

Apple announced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 pro Max will charge faster than previous models – up to 50% in just 20 minutes. This speed relies on a new USB-PD specification, which isn’t widely available yet.

To charge your iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max as quickly as possible, you’ll need to purchase Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter, at least for now. This adapter is currently the only option on the market supporting the USB-PD 3.2 SPR AVS specification.
