About the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), established in May 1979 following the Iranian Revolution, is a primary branch of the Iranian Armed Forces [1]. It reports directly to the Supreme Leader [2] and plays a central role in Iran’s projection of power, internal security, and economy.
