Ireland Supporters Face Ticket Scramble for World Cup Play-Off Clash with Czech Republic

Republic of Ireland fans are bracing for a highly competitive ticket process as only 1,024 tickets have been allocated for the crucial World Cup play-off semi-final against the czech Republic. The match, scheduled for March 26th at Fortuna Arena in Prague, marks a meaningful hurdle in Ireland’s quest to qualify for the tournament in canada, Mexico, and the USA.

The Boys in green secured their play-off spot thanks to a remarkable hat-trick from Troy Parrott in their victory over Hungary. Now, Heimir Hallgrimsson’s squad prepares for a challenging away fixture against the Czechs, with the relatively small Fortuna Arena – boasting a capacity of 19,370 – limiting the number of tickets available to travelling supporters.

FAI’s Ireland Football Supporter Liaison Officer, Gary Spain, confirmed the limited allocation via social media, acknowledging the expected high demand. He stated that the ticket distribution will prioritize supporters based on their history of unsuccessful applications for previous away games, specifically referencing the last ten undersubscribed matches.

Applications for the sought-after tickets are set to open at the end of next week.

Should Ireland overcome the Czech Republic, they will then host either Denmark or North Macedonia in a play-off final at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on March 31st, continuing their pursuit of a place in the World Cup finals.
