Status Yellow Wind Warning Expires for West Coast Counties

A Status Yellow wind warning that was in effect for counties Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Galway, and Mayo has now expired, according to Met Éireann.

Met Éireann had cautioned that these counties would experience very strong and very gusty westerly winds. The potential impacts included fallen trees and branches, difficult travelling conditions, large coastal waves, and potentially damaging gusts of wind, as reported by The Irish Times and Mayo News.

Forecast for Wednesday and Beyond

Wednesday is forecast to be cool and blustery, with any frost and icy patches clearing through the morning. Meteorologist Michelle Dillon of Met Éireann noted an added wind chill effect, with maximum temperatures ranging from 5 to 9 degrees Celsius, making it feel even colder due to fresh to strong northwesterly winds Galway Beo.

Winds and showers are expected to ease later in the day. Wednesday night will be dry but cold, with frost and ice likely to form.

Friday will be brighter, with sunshine and scattered showers, particularly in the north and west. Saturday will bring spells of sunshine and scattered showers, and will be generally breezy.
