Israeli Navy Intercepts Humanitarian Flotilla to Gaza

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Israeli warships attacked humanitarian ships carrying assistance to Gaza, Palestine, The global Sumud Flotilla (global Sumud Fleet), Wednesday night local time. The Israeli Navy reportedly intercepted the fleet of around 45 ships carrying politicians and world figures, including young Swedish activist Greta thunberg.

the Global Sumud fleet departed Spain last month, aiming to break the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory, where the United Nations reports widespread hunger. Thunberg’s ship was among those intercepted by the Israeli Navy after Israel warned the fleet against entering waters it claims are under blockade.

“Around 8:30 PM Gaza time, several Global Sumud fleet ships, including Alma, Sirius, and adara, were intercepted and boarded illegally by Israeli occupation forces in international waters,” the Global Sumud fleet stated on Thursday (2025/10/02 01:06:01).

“along with confirmed interceptions, live broadcasts and communication with several other ships were also cut off,” the statement added.

Turkish media outlet TRT showed footage of Israeli soldiers boarding the ships, ordering activists to raise their hands and discard their cell phones.
