Television presenter Lorraine Kelly has spoken candidly about her encounters with Prince Andrew, describing the disgraced royal as "horrible, ghastly and arrogant" after meeting him on multiple occasions. Her remarks, shared during an appearance on Pete Wicks’ Man Made podcast, reflect long-standing concerns about the Duke of York’s conduct, particularly his sense of entitlement and dismissive attitude toward others.
Kelly emphasized that she typically gives people the benefit of the doubt, even when they appear difficult or rude. However, she stated that repeated negative behavior crosses a line: "If they do it again the next time, then you’re an a***hole and I never aim for to spot you again and go away." In Prince Andrew’s case, she said his pattern of arrogance and unpleasant demeanor left no room for doubt.
"A prime example of that obviously is Prince Andrew, who I had the misfortune to meet a few times, what a ghastly man, a horrible man," Kelly said. "And I’ve always said that, even before all of this stuff (his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein)."
She added that while she tries to understand others’ perspectives, she finds arrogance particularly aggravating. "It’s fascinating isn’t it, to think about that," she remarked, referring to the influences that may have shaped his behavior.
Other individuals who have interacted with Prince Andrew have echoed similar sentiments. A former Metropolitan Police superintendent recounted meeting him at a Christmas reception, where the Duke allegedly shouted orders and displayed an ill-tempered disposition. The officer noted that Andrew "felt entitled," a trait attributed in part to his status as the Queen’s favored son and his former position eighth in line to the throne.
Prince Andrew stepped back from public royal duties in 2019 amid intense scrutiny over his association with Jeffrey Epstein. He was later stripped of his military affiliations and royal patronages by King Charles III.
