Jack Oliver Signs First Professional Contract with Glasgow Warriors

Glasgow Warriors have announced that 22-year-old scrum-half Jack Oliver has signed his first professional contract with the club, becoming the first player to graduate from their academy system ahead of the 2026/27 season. [1]

Early Career and Debut

Oliver made his senior debut for Glasgow Warriors in January 2026, coming off the bench in a 47-10 victory over Zebre Parma at Scotstoun Stadium. [2] He was initially invited to train with the Warriors midway through the 2024/25 campaign. [2] Born in Melrose, Scotland, but raised in Limerick, Ireland, Oliver previously represented Munster and Ireland U20s. [3] He captained the Munster U19s in the 2021/22 season. [3]

Path to Glasgow

Before joining Glasgow, Oliver played for Garryowen FC and Castletroy College. [3] He also had a stint with the Currie Chieftains. [3] He featured for Glasgow Warriors A, scoring the opening try in a victory against Benetton in May 2025. [2] He made a second appearance for Glasgow Warriors against Munster last month. [2]

“I’m over the moon,” Oliver said to the Glasgow Warriors website. “Earning a pro contract was a substantial goal of mine when I came over to Glasgow, and I’m delighted that it’s happened so quickly. Hopefully I can kick on now and continue to develop. The environment here is top-class. The coaching group and everyone here is brilliant from top to bottom, which makes it a great place to come and play rugby.
