Royal Jaguar Heads to Auction – priced Surprisingly Low

A vintage car with a direct link to the English royal family is set to be auctioned, and the price might surprise you.It’s a 1960 Jaguar Mk IX Saloon, famously used to transport Catherine (Kate), now Princess of Wales, along with her sons George and Charlotte, to her sister Pippa Middleton’s wedding at St Mark’s Church in Englefield.
The car will be the star attraction at the first auction organized by H&H Classics at the historic Kelham Hall complex on Wednesday, September 10th.
A Jaguar of Ceremony… and Value
Used during an event watched by millions worldwide (Pippa Middleton’s wedding on May 20, 2017), this Jaguar is now entering the market with an estimated value of between €35,000 and €41,000 (€30,000 – £35,000).
Finished in an elegant Warwick Gray with red leather interiors and root wood inserts – typical of Jaguar production from that era – the Jaguar has travelled just 31,000 miles (approximately 50,000 km) in its 65 years. This mileage is confirmed by the original odometer and comprehensive historical documentation. The current owner has also invested over €7,000 in mechanical work on the engine, brakes, and fuel system, ensuring both reliability and performance.
