Jalen Hurts-A.J. Brown relationship: Eagles’ Brandon Graham says ‘they were friends, but things have changed’

Is there trouble brewing in Philly? For the second straight year, tension seems to be brewing between Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown, and this time it’s reportedly impacting the team’s locker room.

Despite an impressive 11-2 record and an ongoing nine-game winning streak, Eagles captain Brandon Graham has voiced concerns about the rift. He acknowledged the dynamic during a recent appearance on SportsRadio WIP, stating, “I don’t know the whole story, but I know that 1 (Hurts) is trying. 11 (Brown) could be a little better with how he responds to things. They were friends, but things have changed,” Graham said. “And I understand that because life happens. But (on) the business side, we got to make sure we don’t let the personal get in the way of the business. And that’s what we need to do better.”

The brewing drama came to a head following Sunday’s 22-16 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Brown expressed his frustration with the Eagles’ offensive performance, stating, “Passing,” when asked about areas for improvement. “What we did today is not good enough. It won’t help us.”

Hurts’ recent passing numbers have indeed raised eyebrows. He has managed a meager 5.7 yards per attempt over his last two games, ranking among the lowest in the league. While he has thrown for three touchdowns and maintains a 102.7 passer rating, his overall yardage has dipped.

Graham emphasized the importance of separating personal issues from professional responsibilities, saying, “We need to be able to talk things out as men. We need to let personal stuff go. It’s like a lot of stuff. Most of the time it’s like a conversation that needs to be had. The person with the problem has to want to talk to the person.”

The possibility of a rift affecting the team’s chemistry is concerning. The Eagles are clearly a talented squad, but without unity and open communication, their success could be hindered.

Can Hurts and Brown mend their relationship before it damages the Eagles’ chances of a deep playoff run?
