Japan Sends Strong Teams to World Figure Skating Championships

The ice is setting for an intense battle at the World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan, March 25-30! Japan has announced its national team roster, showcasing a powerful blend of experience and rising talent.

Women’s Singles: A Three-Peat Bid and Rising Stars

Heading the women’s team is the formidable Sakamoto Mako**, aiming to become the first woman in 65 years to win four consecutive world titles.

Joining her are promising contenders.

  • Chiba Mone:** Despite finishing fourth at the national championships, Chiba secured her spot with a stellar Grand Prix campaign, clinching three silver medals at the NHK Trophy, Cup of China, and Grand Prix Final.
  • Higuchi Wakaba:** Making a triumphant return to the international stage, Higuchi achieved her first career Grand Prix victory at Skate America and followed it up with a second-place finish at Grand Prix de France.
