Jeremy Clarkson’s Farmers Choir Wins Golden Buzzer on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’

The Hawkstone Farmers Choir, formed by Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy Clarkson, captivated audiences and judges on Saturday’s episode of “Britain’s Got Talent,” earning a Golden Buzzer from Amanda Holden.

A Choir Born from Farming and Beer

Jeremy Clarkson initially brought the group together to appear in an advertisement for his Hawkstone beer range, according to The Daily Mail. However, the farmers enjoyed singing together so much that they decided to continue as a choir.

Emotional Performance and Golden Buzzer

The 32-strong choir, comprised of farmers ranging in age from 27 to 74, delivered a moving rendition of Elbow’s “One Day Like This” at Birmingham’s Hippodrome. Amanda Holden was visibly moved, awarding them the Golden Buzzer, which sends them directly to the semi-finals. A video of the audition has been shared on Britain’s Got Talent’s Facebook page.

Clarkson’s Reaction

Clarkson expressed his joy and surprise at the choir’s success, sharing an emotional video on social media. He stated he was “actually welled up” watching their performance, noting the hard work and modest rewards of farming. He also thanked Amanda Holden for her support, saying, “It shows that people quite like farmers,” as reported by The Daily Mail.

Community and Agriculture

Choir member Katryna Shell, from Northumberland, emphasized the choir’s impact beyond singing, stating it has become a community and a unique experience linking them through their shared profession of farming. Hugh Thomas, from Pembrokeshire, added that the audition was a surreal experience and would “shine a light on agriculture, farming and the rural economy.” according to The Daily Mail.

Viewer Response

Viewers of “Britain’s Got Talent” have reacted positively to the choir’s performance, with many expressing their support and predicting their success, as noted in reports from Metro and YouTube.
