A meaningful investment in local sporting infrastructure has recently been completed, promising to boost cricket participation and elevate the standard of the game in Jersey.In 2024, Jersey Cricket received a grant of £10,750 from the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund, earmarked for crucial upgrades to the cricket net lanes at the Grainville cricket ground. This funding is projected to positively impact approximately 150 young athletes and community members.
Expanding Access and Opportunity
The core of this project involved the addition of a third cricket net lane. This expansion isn’t simply about adding space; it’s about broadening access to the sport for residents across the island.Jersey Cricket’s community programs, alongside offerings from local cricket clubs, will now be able to accommodate a greater number of participants.
