Toronto Maple Leafs Re-Sign Defenseman Philippe Myers
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced the signing of defenseman Philippe Myers to a two-year contract extension. The deal, which carries an average annual value of $850,000, keeps the 27-year-old blueliner in the Blue and White for the next two seasons.
Myers Solid Contributor for Leafs
This season, Myers has appeared in 11 games for the Leafs, recording two assists and averaging 17:08 of ice time. The Moncton, NB native brings valuable NHL experience to the table, having suited up in 169 career games for the Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Throughout his career, Myers has registered eight goals and 30 assists for a total of 38 points.
International Success
Beyond his NHL contributions, Myers has represented Canada internationally on the world stage. He was part of the silver medal-winning teams at both the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship and the 2019 IIHF World Championship.
A Leafs Journey Begins
Myers joined the Maple Leafs as a free agent on July 2, 2024. The 6-foot-5, 219-pound defenseman initially made his mark in the NHL after signing an entry-level contract with the Flyers on September 21, 2015.
