Michael Consuelos Surprises Mom Kelly Ripa During ‘Live!’ 25th Anniversary Celebration
Kelly Ripa celebrated 25 years on “Live with Kelly and Mark” with a special episode on Friday, February 20, 2026, filled with surprises, including a heartfelt appearance by her eldest son, Michael Consuelos.
A Surprise Visit from Michael
During the broadcast, Mark Consuelos welcomed their 28-year-old son, Michael, to the stage, presenting him with a bouquet of yellow flowers. TV Insider reports that Michael jokingly admitted to “stealing” the flowers from the green room. The appearance was particularly poignant as Mark noted Michael was only four years old when Ripa began hosting “Live” alongside Regis Philbin in 2001.
Favorite Memories Shared
Michael shared some of his favorite memories from the reveal, bringing laughter to the audience with a story about a swamp tour in Louisiana. “There’s so many, but if I had to narrow it down to just a handful, I’d say the swamp tour in Louisiana where I threw the snake on you. That was pretty awesome,” he recounted. He also fondly remembered the cooking segments, family holiday specials and winning the “golden wiener.”
Ripa’s Emotional Reaction
Overwhelmed with emotion, Kelly Ripa expressed her surprise and joy at her son’s appearance. “I’m just looking at you, and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe you’re here.’ It’s such a nice surprise,” she said, according to Yahoo Entertainment.
A Milestone Celebration
The 25th-anniversary episode also included heartfelt video messages from Ripa’s children, Lola and Joaquin, as well as appearances from friends and colleagues. Artist David Garibaldi created a commemorative painting live in the studio, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Ripa was also recognized with a Guinness World Records milestone for her long-running tenure on the show.
