Kesha Condemns White House Use of Her Song in Military TikTok

Pop star Kesha has publicly criticized the White House for using her 2011 song “Blow” in a TikTok video depicting U.S. Military action. This incident adds to a growing list of artists objecting to the Trump administration’s unauthorized use of their music.

TikTok Video and Kesha’s Response

The TikTok video, posted on February 10, features footage of fighter jets launching missiles at naval vessels, accompanied by the caption “Lethality.” As of March 3, 2026, the video has garnered over 16 million views and approximately two million likes. Kesha responded on social media, stating, “It’s come to my attention that The White House has used one of my songs on TikTok to incite violence and threaten war.” She further emphasized, “Trying to make light of war is disgusting and inhumane. I absolutely do NOT approve of my music being used to promote violence of any kind.”

Kesha concluded her statement by referencing the Epstein files, stating, “Too, don’t let this distract us from the fact that criminal predator Donald Trump appears in the Files over a million times.”

A Pattern of Unauthorized Music Use

This is not an isolated incident. Several other artists have previously voiced their disapproval of the Trump administration using their music without permission. In November of last year, Olivia Rodrigo criticized the United States Homeland Security for using her song ‘all-american bitch’ in a clip encouraging undocumented immigrants to self-deport [Source: Deadline]. Sabrina Carpenter denounced the White House in December for using her song ‘Juno’ in a video promoting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). More recently, Radiohead also condemned ICE for using a choral rendition of ‘Let Down’ in a video displaying images that implied harm caused by immigrants.

White House Response

White House Communications boss Steven Cheung responded to Kesha’s objection with a dismissive post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “All these ‘singers’ preserve falling for this. This just gives us more attention and more view counts to our videos as people want to witness what they’re bitching about.” [Source: Deadline]

Kesha’s Upcoming Tour and New Album

Kesha is currently on “The Tits Out” UK and EU tour in support of her recent album, (Period), her first as an independent artist following her departure from Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records and RCA almost three years ago. She will be performing at the 3Arena, Dublin, on March 21, and at Live at the Marquee, Cork, on July 7.
