Keychron has expanded its HE 8K line with the launch of the C0 HE 8K, a one-handed gaming keyboard designed for efficiency and comfort. Priced at $59.99, this keyboard offers a unique approach to gaming and creative workflows, bringing many features found in Keychron’s higher-complete models to a more accessible price point.

Design and Features

The Keychron C0 HE 8K is a wired, one-handed keyboard featuring a 35-key layout. Despite being only the left half of a standard keyboard, it includes the number row and function keys, making it a compact yet functional input device. The chassis is constructed from ABS plastic, while an aluminum plate provides stability, utilizing a tray-mount design. It boasts an 8K polling rate and a 256kHz single-key scan rate for responsive input.

Keychron has incorporated several ergonomic features, including an “ergonomic angled space bar” designed to align with the natural curvature of the fingers and a built-in silicone palm rest for enhanced comfort during extended use. The keyboard utilizes OEM profile, double-shot shine-through ABS keycaps, offering a familiar feel for many gamers.

Keychron Ultra-Swift Lime Magnetic Switches

A core component of the C0 HE 8K is the Keychron Ultra-Fast Lime magnetic switch. These switches employ magnets and sensors instead of traditional physical contacts, resulting in smoother keypresses and eliminating bounce or chatter. The switches have a lightweight 25g actuation force and 3.35mm of travel, with an all-POM construction. The C0 HE 8K is exclusively compatible with Keychron Ultra-fast Lime Magnetic Switches and does not support other magnetic switches like Gateron Magnetic Jade or Gateron KS-20 Magnetic switches.

Customization Options

The C0 HE 8K offers extensive customization through the Keychron Launcher. Users can adjust switch actuation distance and configure SOCD (Simultaneous Omni-directional Control), DKS (Dynamic Key Strength), Rapid Trigger and Mod Tap. The keyboard also features north-facing RGB LEDs with over 22 settings, including static white, per-key RGB control, and RGB mixing.
