Kim Ho-cheol Appoints New Directors at Board of Audit and Inspection

The Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) has announced the appointments of Yoon Seung-gi and Lim Dong-hyuk to key leadership positions, signaling a continued focus on strengthening the agency’s oversight capabilities. The appointments were approved by President Lee Jae Myung following recommendations from BAI Chairman Kim Ho-cheol, according to a statement released on February 28, 2026.

Yoon Seung-gi Named Head of Public Service Inspection Headquarters

Yoon Seung-gi, previously the director of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Audit Bureau, has been appointed as the head of the Public Service Inspection Headquarters. The BAI highlighted Yoon’s legal background and described him as possessing “extensive knowledge of various laws and gentle leadership.” His experience in auditing across diverse fields and his demonstrated command ability were also cited as key factors in his selection. Lim Dong-hyuk Appointed Head of National Audit Headquarters

Lim Dong-hyuk, formerly the director of the Public Finance and Accounting Audit Bureau, will now lead the National Audit Headquarters. The BAI noted Lim’s background as a certified public accountant and his “outstanding capabilities in the accounting audit field.” He was also recognized for his leadership qualities, having been named an excellent manager in the 2023 working-level council evaluation. These appointments follow Kim Ho-cheol’s own nomination as chairman of the BAI by President Lee Jae Myung in December 2025.
