KPK Seizes Rp 2 Billion from Bobby Rasyidin Since August 2025 During Pertamina Digitalization Probe

Reports circulating this week said Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had just seized Rp 2 billion from Bobby Rasyidin, chief executive of state railway operator PT KAI. The commission says the seizure happened 15 months earlier, in August 2025, while Rasyidin was still leading defense electronics firm PT Len Industri, Kompas reported.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the seizure at the agency’s Jakarta headquarters on Friday, clarifying that investigators took the money during their probe into alleged corruption in the digitalization of PT Pertamina gas stations between 2018 and 2023, Bloomberg Technoz reported.

Rasyidin, appointed PT KAI chief on Aug. 12, 2025, rejected the reports in a written statement issued while he inspected railway crossings in Yogyakarta, Antara News Yogyakarta reported.

Rasyidin Calls Reports “Not True” From Yogyakarta

Speaking from Yogyakarta, where he was checking safety at level crossings ahead of the Christmas and New Year travel rush, Rasyidin said he was “very sad” that media reports claimed the seizure had just occurred. He did not provide further details beyond denying the accounts, Kompas.id reported.

The KPK clarified that Rasyidin handed over the money cooperatively after learning it was allegedly linked to one of the suspects in the case. The seizure is unrelated to his current role at PT KAI, the commission said, kumparan reported.

The underlying case centers on a digitalization project for Pertamina gas stations valued at up to Rp 3.6 trillion, or Rp 15.25 per liter, agreed between Pertamina and PT Telkom in August 2018. The project aimed to monitor fuel stocks in real time and oversee subsidized fuel distribution, Bloomberg Technoz reported.
