Badgers Fall to Firehawks in Close Contest
AVON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University football team fought hard, but ultimately fell to the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (Ind.) Firehawks with a final score of 28-21.The game took place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Finn Stadium.
The Firehawks started strong, taking an early lead in the first quarter. However, the Badgers responded with a touchdown of their own, tying the game. The first half saw both teams trading scores, resulting in a 14-14 tie at halftime.
In the second half, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods managed to pull ahead, scoring two touchdowns to take a 28-14 lead. Baldwin Wallace didn’t give up, adding a late touchdown to narrow the gap to 28-21. Despite their efforts, the Badgers couldn’t complete the comeback.
Quarterback Jack Arthur lead the Badgers’ offense, completing 18 of 33 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. wide receiver Deezer Okoro had a strong performance, catching seven passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Defensively,linebacker Anthony DeRosa led the team with 11 tackles.
The Badgers’ record now stands at 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). They will look to finish the season strong as they prepare to face Spring Hill College (Ala.) in their next game.
