Lana Del Rey Opens Up About Her Husband and Finding Love in the Music Industry

While accepting the Producer of the Decade award at Variety’s eighth-annual Hitmakers event, Lana Del Rey gave a rare and insightful glimpse into her personal life, crediting producer Jack Antonoff’s marriage to actress Margaret Qualley as a major influence on her own relationship.

“I’m grateful for [Antonoff] for the example he gave me in his marriage to [Margaret Qualley],” Del Rey shared. “I saw the way he looked at her when he met her, and he’s a big reason why I waited so long to get married, and why I met my amazing husband.”

A Swift and Sweet Romance

Del Rey officially introduced her husband, Jeremy Dufrene, to the public in September when she brought him as her plus-one to model Karen Elson and Lee Foster’s wedding. Just weeks later, on September 26th, the couple obtained their marriage license and tied the knot the same day.

Navigating Love in the Spotlight

Del Rey also expressed her belief that finding a genuine and supportive partner within the music industry can be challenging, stating, “I feel like there’s a singers’ curse around meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race.”

She continued, “It’s super nerve-wracking to hold on to an innocent perception of how things could go when you’re in an industry where maybe your values and your morals don’t quite match up with what’s going on. Especially when people think you probably don’t have any morals or values.”
