Lauren Hart Fronts Arch Enemy: A New Chapter for the Melodic Death Metal Giants
Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy has ushered in a new era with the announcement of Lauren Hart as their vocalist. Hart, formerly of Once Human and previously linked to Divine Heresy, steps into the role following the departure of Alissa White-Gluz, who left the band in November 2025 to pursue a solo career [1].
A New Voice for Arch Enemy
The band unveiled Hart alongside their new single, “To the Last Breath,” released on February 19, 2026. Guitarist and founder Michael Amott expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Connecting with Lauren has marked an important step in my journey. Working with her was an exceptional experience—her remarkable voice, coupled with her dedication and professionalism, brings a rare level of excellence. I look forward to continuing the collaboration.” [1]
Amott described the new single as “a reckoning,” both musically and lyrically. He explained that the song is “unapologetically aligned with my original vision for the band” and addresses themes of deception and fighting back against control [1].
Lauren Hart’s Background
Lauren Hart, born April 8, 1986, is an Australian heavy metal singer [2]. She is best known for her function as the former lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the American groove metal band Once Human, with whom she was active from 2014 to 2022 [2]. Prior to joining Arch Enemy, Hart was recruited as the vocalist for Divine Heresy in 2022, though the band has not released any music since that announcement [2], [4].
Hart’s vocal style is characterized by a blend of growling and clean singing [2]. She has also collaborated with the power metal band Kamelot, appearing as a guest vocalist on stage and in the studio for their 2018 album, The Shadow Theory [2].
