Lazio Reportedly Close to Appointing Danilo Pizi to Youth Sector Role
Rome, Italy – March 14, 2026 – Lazio is reportedly in advanced talks with Danilo Pizi to fill a key position within the club’s youth sector, according to sources from Corriere dello Sport and other outlets close to the Biancocelesti. The potential appointment comes as Lazio seeks to bolster its youth development program with experienced leadership.
Pizi’s name has emerged alongside that of Massimo Bava of Catanzaro as a candidate to strengthen the managerial staff of the Lazio youth system. He is known for his successful tenure with Nuova Florida Calcio, where he oversaw the club’s rise through the regional leagues to Serie D.
Pizi was previously appointed to a similar role with Anzio Calcio in May 2025, but resigned after approximately two months.
Negotiations between Pizi and Lazio are reportedly progressing well, with a potential agreement expected to be finalized next week. The move would represent a significant step up for Pizi, transitioning him from the amateur ranks to one of Italy’s prominent football clubs.
During his time with Nuova Florida, Pizi was instrumental in the club’s achievements, including a championship and cup double in Eccellenza in 2019, and a victory in Promotion. He has a track record of identifying and developing players who have gone on to professional careers.
