Sidney Wilson Pleads Guilty to First-Degree Murder in Deaths of Pregnant Wife and Newborn Son

Sidney Frederick Wilson V pleaded guilty in Laclede County Circuit Court to two counts of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of his pregnant estranged wife, Reagan Lynn Wilson, and the subsequent death of their newborn infant son, Silas. KY3 reported that a circuit judge scheduled Wilson’s formal sentencing hearing for Dec. 14 at 1 p.m.

The charges stem from a late-night domestic shooting on June 5, 2025. Authorities from the Lebanon Police Department arrived at a home in the 700 block of North Adams Avenue at about 11:37 p.m. after receiving notifications of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found 21-year-old Reagan Lynn Wilson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Plea Deal and Court Timeline in Laclede County

Sidney Wilson changed his plea to guilty and accepted a plea deal on Sept. 8, 2026. As part of the agreement, two additional charges of armed criminal action against Wilson were dismissed.

Court records show the case moved through several procedural steps before the plea change. Wilson initially entered a plea of not guilty while requesting a new judge and a change of venue. Law enforcement arrested Wilson on July 31, 2025, at a residence in Nixa, weeks after the initial homicides. He has been held without bond in the Laclede County Jail.

Investigators Trace Wilson Using Doorbell Footage and Ballistics Data

Investigators built their case using doorbell camera footage, cell phone data, and ballistics testing. A doorbell camera near the North Adams Avenue home captured the sounds of gunfire occurring within a six-second timeframe on the night of June 5.

Surveillance video from a nearby residence showed a suspect wearing a camouflage hoodie, a face covering, and gloves. A Laclede County Sheriff’s Office deputy told investigators that the person’s walking pattern matched security footage of Wilson visiting a Goodwill store.

During interviews with the Lebanon Police Department, Wilson claimed he sold his firearm to an unknown man in April 2025. However, surveillance footage from the location of the alleged sale contradicted his timeline. GPS data from Wilson’s cell phone also indicated he traveled east on Interstate 44 toward Lebanon around 10:30 p.m. on June 5 before location data stopped abruptly. Ballistics tests confirmed that bullets recovered from the crime scene matched the type of firearm Wilson previously owned.

Sentencing and Legal Penalties in Missouri

In accordance with Missouri statutes, a conviction for first-degree murder requires a penalty of either the death penalty or life in prison without the opportunity for parole or probation. Wilson remains in custody at the Laclede County Jail pending his sentencing hearing on Dec. 14, 2026.
