The Mummy is Back: A Fresh Take on the Ancient Horror

Prepare to be scared as the iconic Mummy is rising from the grave once again! Horror giants Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, along with writer Christopher Cronin’s banner Doppelgängers, are teaming up to deliver a terrifying new twist on the classic monster.

While plot details are still shrouded in mystery, Cronin promises a unique and terrifying experience.

“This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before,” Cronin told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.”

A Star-Studded Production

This project boasts a powerhouse production team. James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville are producing, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Macdara Kelleher serving as executive producers. Alayna Glasthal is overseeing the project for Atomic Monster.

Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are co-financing the film, setting the stage for a potentially blockbuster horror hit.

A Legacy of Mummy Movies

Mummies have long been a staple of horror cinema. Universal famously featured the iconic creature in its classic monster films throughout the 1930s and 1940s, and revived the character in modern films starring Brendan Fraser and Tom Cruise. Hammer Films also released their own chilling Mummy movie in 1959, starring Christopher Lee.

With Cronin’s creative vision and the combined might of Atomic Monster, Blumhouse, and Doppelgängers, this new Mummy promises to be a terrifying journey unlike any we’ve seen before.

The news was confirmed with post on Blumhouse’s Instagram account, seen below.

Cronin is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment and Jackoway Austen.
