Madlamannen Ole Ertvaag is the founder of HitecVision and one of NorwayS richest men, with a fortune of NOK 16.5 billion. He is also by far the country’s largest collector of super sports cars. As he himself has stated repeatedly: “I am entirely wild for cars!”

The favorite brand is Ferrari, and ertvaag’s collection of cars from the prestigious Italian brand is world-class. He has 18 pieces standing in the garage, from brand new SP3 Daytona and SF90 XX to classics such as 275 GTB and 365 Daytona. Everyone is on Norwegian signs.

But no Ferrari collection is complete without the five coveted “big 5” cars. This is Ferraris Crème de la Crème from the last forty years. The fastest, most exclusive and most expensive models for the most important and most discerning customers.

Ertvaag has long had two of the five cars in the garage. His Red 2004 model Ferrari Enzo with 650 horsepower received Norwegian signs in 2017. His gray 2015 model Ferrari Laferrari with 6.3 liter V12 Hybrid and 963 horsepower was recorded in 2022.

Now,Ertvaag has secured the remaining three cars in the “Big 5” collection: a 2002 Ferrari 288 GTO,a 1990 Ferrari F40,and a 2005 Ferrari F50. The total price tag for these three cars is estimated at NOK 160 million.

“It has taken time, but now the collection is complete,” says Ertvaag to Finansavisen.

With the addition of these three cars, Ertvaag’s total supercar collection is now valued at around NOK 650 million.

Norwegian Collector amasses Rare Ferrari Collection

This car, also purchased by ertvaag from a Danish Ferrari dealer, has 10,400 kilometers on the odometer and was acquired off-market at an undisclosed price. The estimated cost likely exceeds NOK 50 million before VAT, bringing the total to approximately NOK 65 million. The car appeared on the market in April.

no ferrari collection is truly complete without one of the 272 examples of the 288 GTO, originally conceived as a homologation special for Group B racing. This model boasts a turbocharged 2.9-liter V8 engine producing 400 horsepower and marked the first Ferrari to bear the legendary GTO designation since the iconic 250 GTO – one of the most coveted cars globally.

Ertvaag’s acquisition of a red 288 GTO required a trip to Canada, where he negotiated with Automobiles Etcetera in Montreal. They listed the vehicle for $4.5 million, equivalent to approximately NOK 46 million. If this was the final price, it represents a significant investment.

what Herman Smidt Says, One of Norway’s Foremost Ferrari Experts

“only 272 copies of 288 GTOs have been built in the world, so of all the hundreds of thousands of Ferraris the building, only 272 collections of ‘Big 5’ are possible.”

Erling Haaland and His Business Partner’s Incredible Car Collection

Erling Braut Haaland, the Manchester City striker, shares a passion for high-performance vehicles with his business partner, Ole Ertvaag. Their automotive tastes are as notable as their professional success, boasting a collection valued at well over 100 million Norwegian kroner (approximately $9.5 million USD).

The pair jointly own a Mercedes-AMG One, a limited-production hybrid hypercar known for its Formula 1-derived engine.Their automotive ambitions don’t stop there; in May, Haaland and Ertvaag were spotted outside the Bugatti factory in Molsheim, France, likely configuring their upcoming Bugatti Tourbillon – a vehicle with a staggering price tag of 55 million kroner.

Ertvaag’s personal collection is equally remarkable. He already owns a 2018 Bugatti Chiron (sold last year for around 40 million kroner) and a 2008 Bugatti Veyron, both powered by an 8-liter W16 engine. He also has a Porsche 918 Spyder (2015) and a Porsche 911R (2016).

The collection extends to classic and iconic vehicles as well. A 1955 mercedes-Benz 300SL, an Aston Martin DB5 (modeled after the James Bond car from 1964), and a rebuilt 1992 Porsche 911 are also housed in the garage. Ertvaag has publicly stated that his 1969 Lamborghini Miura is his favorite car in the collection.
