A High Price for an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme?
Yesterday, we saw the disappointment with the ASUS rog Ally’s performance. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 will likely face similar issues, as it shares the same hardware. The comparison is unfavorable; the Legion Go 2 offers the same performance as the asus console, but at a higher price. The Rog Ally launched for 899 euros, while the Lenovo Legion Go 2 will be more expensive, 100 euros more, reaching a recommended price of 999 euros.
These prices are problematic, especially considering upcoming, higher-performance consoles like the Win 5 or similar GPD models. These consoles will include a powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with an integrated GPU comparable to a NVIDIA GeForce RTX, significantly outperforming the AMD Radeon 890m integrated with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, which delivers performance comparable to a GeForce GTX 1060. Rumors suggest consoles with this AI Max+ 395 could cost between 1,200 and 1,500 euros. For example, opting for the Lenovo would mean paying at least 20% more for a substantial performance decrease.
