Former Little Nell Hotel General Manager Arrested on Theft Charges
Aspen, CO – Henning Rahm, the former general manager of the Little Nell Hotel, was arrested on Tuesday, March 12, 2026, on a felony theft charge. The arrest stems from an internal investigation by Aspen One, which alleges Rahm misused more than $400,000 in corporate funds for personal expenses.
Details of the Investigation
The investigation, initiated on October 27, 2025, began when Aspen One’s internal audit and advisory team discovered discrepancies in invoices submitted by Rahm. A representative from one vendor confirmed an invoice had been altered from its original amount, according to a statement compiled by Aspen Police Department detective Danielle Madril.
During interviews with Aspen One management, Rahm admitted to altering at least six to ten supplier invoices. The investigation revealed a pattern of fraudulent reimbursements and personal purchases made using his corporate credit card.
Alleged Misuse of Funds
The alleged misuse of funds included:
- A $3,365 deposit made to a garage door company for a repair to Rahm’s personal residence, falsely described as a repair to a loading dock door at the Little Nell Hotel.
- Purchases of landscaping for his home, an electric bicycle intended as a gift, reading glasses, specialized slippers, socks, blazers, shirts, and multiple pairs of dress shoes.
- Airline tickets that were canceled to receive credits for personal use.
- Forged receipts and fraudulent expense purposes.
- Splitting payments to avoid exceeding the $5,000 transaction limit without prior approval.
The Aspen One audit team identified 234 out of 1,314 receipts (approximately 17.7%) from 2022 through 2025 as fraudulent. An additional review of 134 transactions from 2018 through 2021 revealed 21 fraudulent reimbursements.
Total Losses and Current Status
The total losses attributed to Rahm’s alleged misuse of corporate funds amount to $410,033. Aspen One believes the actual amount could be higher due to the limited scope of the audit, which only sampled reimbursements from certain years.
Rahm was released on a $25,000 cash bond and is scheduled for a bond hearing on April 20, 2026, in Pitkin County District Court. He did not respond to requests for comment from the Aspen Daily News.
Aspen One’s Response
Aspen One released a statement on Friday, March 13, 2026, stating they are “actively cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate this former employee” and are unable to comment further due to the ongoing case.
Rahm was terminated from his position at Aspen One last fall following the internal investigation. He had been with the company since 2011, previously serving as regional general manager of the Limelight Hotel properties in Aspen and Snowmass Village. In July 2022, Aspen Skiing Co. Highlighted his critical role at Limelight Aspen, noting his contributions to guest loyalty and financial performance.
