Logan County Grand Jury Indictments: Attempted Murder and Multiple Felonies

The Logan County Grand Jury recently issued a series of indictments, including charges of attempted murder, strangulation, and domestic violence. Several individuals were indicted on various felony and misdemeanor charges, ranging from drug-related offenses to theft and assault.

Attempted Murder and Domestic Violence Case

Dennis Riley, 43, was indicted on charges of Attempted Murder (two counts, both felonies of the first degree), Strangulation (a felony of the third degree), and Domestic Violence (a misdemeanor of the first degree). Peak of Ohio reports that Riley was arrested one week after the indictment and is currently held in the Logan County Jail. The charges stem from a domestic violence investigation conducted by the Washington Township Police over an extended period. He was arraigned on January 16 and pleaded not guilty, with a bond set at $1 million cash or surety. A pretrial conference is scheduled for March 16 at 1:30 p.m., and a jury trial is set for April 6 at 8:30 a.m., both in Logan County Common Pleas Court. Additional charges are pending. • Rachel Brannan: Three counts of Failure to Provide Notice Of Change Of Address (all felonies of the third degree) and Failure to Register (a felony of the third degree) and Failure to Verify Address (a felony of the third degree).
• Michael Cole: Two counts of Felonious Assault (both felonies of the second degree) and two counts of Domestic Violence (both felonies of the third degree).
• Austin Henry: Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer (a felony of the fourth degree).

September Grand Jury Indictments

In September, the Logan County Grand Jury handed down 91 indictments for a variety of charges, including sexual abuse, failure to register as a sex offender, burglary, arson, and malicious wounding.
