Chargers Elevate Linebacker Emany Johnson to Active Roster
The Los Angeles Chargers have elevated linebacker Emany Johnson from their practice squad for their upcoming game on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024. This move provides a boost to the Chargers’ defensive depth as they prepare to face their opponent.
Johnson initially entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, signing with the dallas Cowboys in 2024. After spending the offseason and a portion of the season with the Cowboys’ practice squad, he joined the Los Angeles Chargers in November 2024, continuing his development on their practice squad.
Prior to his professional career, Johnson enjoyed a successful collegiate career at the University of Nevada from 2019 to 2023. During his time with the Wolf Pack, he appeared in 55 games, consistently demonstrating his tackling ability and coverage skills.He finished his college career with an impressive 196 total tackles, including 136 solo tackles, alongside three interceptions and 11 pass breakups.
His outstanding performance in 2023 earned him first-team All-Mountain West Conference honors, leading the team with 100 tackles and securing three interceptions. The Chargers are hoping Johnson can translate his collegiate success to the professional level and contribute to their defensive efforts.
