It makes a big difference. Today I have people around me who know what I want, what I need and trust me. Because it turned out that my previous musical steps were correct, so no one argues with me anymore.
In the nineties, the songs that emerged from the collaboration with Gábina Osvaldová and Ondřej Soukup were such collective children.now my team fulfills my vision of what I want to convey to the listeners. I have to sing what I believe in, as if I don’t, I’m stepping on my tongue or I’m not very believable.
Sometimes someone asks me why I don’t sing the songs I sang in the nineties. I answer that probably because it’s not the nineties anymore.Back then, the songs suited their time, but now they might not work at all.
In addition, the adult version of me already uses energy beyond the boundaries of music. I enjoy doing business, producing in my Prague theater, managing a cultural center and a restaurant in Otvovice, and doing real estate that interests me. I have ferocity, I just use it elsewhere.

Lucie Bílá on Her New Album “Ordinary Girl” and the Song “Amen”
Lucie Bílá describes her new album, “ordinary Girl,” as a “memory music photo album,” charting a specific period in her life. She explains that the title song reflects how others perceive her feelings, acknowledging her public profession while also touching on the challenges of being a woman today – all presented with the masterful touch of composer pokáč.
The song “Amen” holds a especially deep meaning for Bílá. She calls it a “beautiful thing,” a powerful and urgent expression allowing her to vocalize her innermost feelings. It’s a direct conversation with God, a plea for continued grace despite her imperfections. Bílá admits to struggling with self-forgiveness,finding it easier to forgive others.
She reflects on the universal search for answers to life’s big questions, suggesting that perhaps the heart already holds the wisdom the head seeks. For Bílá, God embodies love, making “Amen” a conversation with that very essence.
The placement of “Amen” as the final track on the album wasn’t planned. It was a serendipitous oversight by her partner, Radek, who meticulously arranged the song order. Bílá believes this was meant to be, considering “Amen” to be a fitting culmination, not just for her album, but for life itself.
