The president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenkowho mediated to quell the Wagner mutiny last June against the Russian military leadership, said Friday that he warned Prigozhin through Putin that he had information that an attack was being prepared against him.
Lukashenko added that the leader of the Wagners subsequently confirmed that it had received notice.
Precisely the detonation of an explosive device placed in the landing gear compartment of Prigozhin’s plane, an Embraer Legacy 600, is being considered as the possible cause of the accident.
Some media pointed out the possibility that the aircraft could be shot down, intentionally or by mistake, by missiles from air defense units protecting a Putin residence located next to the route taken by Prigozhin’s plane.
Neither did the Russian authorities. rule out a technical fault or even a piloting error as the cause of the accident, while on social networks there is no shortage of those who maintain that everything is a setup and that Prigozhin is alive.
